The Exterior Wood Designs Process

Once you have defined the scope of your project and contacted EWD, one of our project managers will guide you through the following process to ensure materials are ordered promptly and work begins as quickly as possible.

Initial Consultation:  After initial contact, we will get back within 24 hours to set up a design consultation and provide a written project estimate.

Job Scheduling:  Once price is agreed upon, your job will be placed in the queue by contract acceptance date.

Materials Contract:  After the written estimate is provided and price is agreed upon, EWD will reiterate required materials and adjust price, if necessary, for color and design.  We will present you and updated contract for review and acceptance, including approximate start date.

Permits and HOA Approval (if applicable):  You must provide EWD with a copy of the survey ("plat") for use in obtaining permits.  If necessary, EWD can provide you with a drawing and/or description of the project to submit to your homeowner’s association (HOA).

Order Materials:  EWD will order all materials and arrange for delivery to the jobsite to coincide with our first day on the job.

Demolition and Framing:  Where necessary, we will completely demolish your existing structure, construct a temporary frame, and lay footings for the new structure.  Please note that, when possible, EWD will maintain the integrity of your property unconnected to the construction and clean up the site every day.  We will also remove large amounts of debris and waste during more comprehensive evening or weekend cleanups.
